With the gas line construction all the north side trials are a crowded cattle stampede, but the south side trails see little traffic. Use that information as you like.

These guys are doing trail work this morning around coyote.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0d9c3c5cc6.jpg
They were up by Potato Hill this afternoon. I think they are doing wildfire prevention/control and not trail work.
Yeah as I came down from BST back to coyote, the trail looked different, like they torched a bunch of stuff.
Well I thought maybe it would be dry by tomorrow morning. Then a couple storms started passing through. Bloody hell...
Tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. I hear it was a mud fest in CC today. I just hope the asshats didn't rip the trails up to bad the past few days.
Yeah damn. It's been a rough last few weeks for riding.
I am in full-blown trail work mode up AF Canyon so my riding of late has been diminished anyway. This rain sucks though, Here's to dry trails soon!
I was able to get in a short, quick ride yesterday afternoon at Lambert Park to test out the new 1x11 drivetrain. I ran across this big feller on the Zag Trail. This guy was really chunky for a Great Basin Rattler. Must be well fed!

I need to stop washing my bike. Every time I do it rains!
The trails are a little wet up top, but it's just on the surface. The lower stuff isn't a bad and my bike didn't get much mud on it. If the rain stays away and the sun comes out then everything should be much better by the afternoon.
Are there any new trails open connecting the north and south trails? When is the construction supposed to be finished? I heard May...
Construction is supposed to be finished mid June.
You can cross north to south at the Peak View TH, bottom of Creek View, and using BST.
Although not offically open you can also cross at the diversion dam and the cross over just above the diversion dam.
Thanks for the update. I took BST over today. The trails I rode were okay with some puddles. I would avoid eagle crest for another day though. I bailed early on that one, too muddy.
Update: Questar is expected to be out of Corner Canyon by June 1st, but the trails will be f**ked up for a while and will require extensive rehabilitation. Rush might be opened by the end of the week. The middle section of Rush will be passable but will need major reconstruction.
Looking for an able bodied person to come chainsawing up AF Canyon with me this afternoon. The hike will be approx. 3 miles round-trip up the SFLDC #252 trail, north section. I'd like to meet at the Pine Hollow gate at 3:45 or so. Out of the canyon between 7 & 8pm. Your responsibility will be to carry the first-aid kit and help clear off the cut logs and branches (not that heavy, really). Come enjoy the canyon solitude before the gates open (and until the chainsaw starts rippin'!). Here's your chance to give back. Takers?
Rush and Canyon Hollow are now open. BE AWARE REHABILITATION WILL BE ONGOING. SOME SECTIONS OF LOWER CORNER CANYON ARE STILL CLOSED.
Today I rode Canyon Hollow and Rush.... game on!
Rode this morning...
Ralph's - BST - Gasline - Ghost falls - a few puddles, but good to go.
Upper Ghost - road - Brocks - a few puddles - good to go
Corral - shitty mud hole! New const has left lots of loose soil that is now mud - stay on road to avoid it.
Anne's - tater to coyote - few puddles good to go.
Coyote - canyon hollow - ghost - one soft spot on Canyon where new construction has left loose soils - good to go.
Rattler - BST - Orson smith - couple of pudles, no mud - good to go.
I ran across this bad boy in Corner Canyon today. I believe it's a Utah Mountain Kingsnake. But don't fear as they are nonvenomous.

Draper just approved their budget and it includes $250K for new trail development in Corner Canyon!
Bill Becker called me yesterday to let me know they have already done a bunch of re-work on the South Maple Hollow trail, which I really appreciate since when I do ride CC (which isn't a whole lot) I pedal up this trail. He also said the plan is to reroute the bottom portion (which now just plunges down a double-track dirt road) to connect with Brookside Drive. Brookside Drive is currently barricaded off and the plan is to remove the barricades and develop a nice trailhead parking lot at the end of the road. This will be really nice for those of us starting in Utah County!

Eagle Crest is getting widened (the other half) from the maple hollow intersection back. It sucked riding up it with soft dirt. I also rode spring hollow today and it is also under construction getting widened. Don't expect any PR's for a while... :bootyshake:
It's a great time of year to be riding Corner Canyon.

If anybody rides today let me know the trail conditions. I would like to ride tonight.
Rain is just what we needed. The trails were so dusty and loose!
Whenever I do the Spring Hollow climb (3 miles with 1000' of elevation gain) that snakes through the South Mountain Golf Course to the top of Potato Hill I always think to myself "Hey, maybe when I get too old to race mountain bikes I'll take up golf and ride around in one of those cute little golf carts and call it exercise". And then I laugh myself silly when I suddenly realize the day I'm too old to race I'll be dead.

A little rain last night was much needed. The trails have been so dusty and loose.
The lower trails are mostly dry. As you climb it gets wet. It wasn't squishy until I reached the top of north ghost falls parking. From there up the top layer sticks to your tires. Not enough to rut, just a little more wet. Then down Ann's the same until a ways down, then it's perfect and fast!

I didn't try this morning. Quite a bit of rain last night...
Clarks and Rush were sold today. Im not sure if it was the rain or what it was but seemed like the trail wasn't as loose as normal. That was especially nice in the tight turns down Rush.
Im not sure why people don't read signs anymore. Going up clarks i passed about 12 preschool kids and there leaders. Coming down Rush I passed 2 hikers. I pick these trial so that i do have to worry about these encounters.
Clark's is open in both directions to everyone but bikes. Bikes are uphill only.
