I'm triggered by all the hand/finger waving. Going to my safe space now.

Honestly, the best way to combat Democratic Socialists (or any radical ideology) is to give them access to a loud speaker and a stage to speak from. Support the first amendment AND show others what nut jobs these guys are.
I really like what Tucker Carlson had to say about this..."The Socialists of days of old would actually plot violence and the overthrowing of governments, now it's become this".
These aren't warriors...they're fresh meat if the shit hits the fan.
Whoa there. How DARE you assume that they would want to be with a woman.
Could it be that the greatest curse of our time and for our younger generation is wealth and prosperity? Has this created an environment of indolence - idleness? Since I have been reading a bit of Thomas Jefferson's letters... Here is a quote from Thomas Jefferson that may apply to the subject matter of this thread.
“Of all the cankers of human happiness, none corrodes it with so silent, yet so baneful a tooth, as indolence. Body & mind both unemployed, our being becomes a burthen, & every object about us loathsome, even the dearest. Idleness begets ennui, ennui the hypochondria, & that a diseased body. No laborious person was ever yet hysterical. Exercise & application produce order in our affairs, health of body, chearfulness of mind, & these make us precious to our friends. It is while we are young that the habit of industry is formed, if not then, it never is afterwards. The fortune of our lives therefore depends on employing well the short period of youth. If at any moment, my dear, you catch yourself [. . .] in idleness, start from it as you would from a precipice of a gulph.”

Idleness leads to ennui (dissatisfaction, boredom), ennui leads to hypochondria and hypochondria to a diseased body. Seems to fit what is going on with a lot of people in society today. We seem to have a bunch of folks that think everything and everyone is broken and sick and that we need to be fixed. Everything is wrong. These folks don't seem to work or are afraid to work, or they are triggered by work and they want free stuff. Hmmmm. Maybe Thomas Jefferson was on to something. Maybe my mom and dad were right when they told me to go get a job when I was 12.
They threw me out into the street when I was 15...best thing that could have happened to me...seriously.
I think you're right Scott, I think too many of these kids are spoiled and miserable. It happens to older folks, too...I'm surrounded here at my condo complex by crazy cat ladies with virtually no purpose in life but to complain.
I remember when I was a kid, some of the old timer's saying "Keep moving, don't slow down".
I think you've nailed it. Difficult to be unhappy when you're diligently engaged in productive activity. But most folks don't take too kindly to the implication that they're lazy.
How many times in previous posts about Trump protest-rallies have I made the comment "Don't these people have jobs? How do they afford to protest/riot in the streets for days on end?"
So I'm out at Bonneville Speedweek and this is the sign on the port-a-john door... LMAO...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5aeb02ccd2.jpg

22-Year-Old Who Wanted Jaguar Pushes BMW, a Birthday Gift from His Parents, Into Canal: Report
“Akash was demanding for a Jaguar car from his father, but when his father failed to buy one, he threw away his BMW in a fit of anger,” a local police official told the outlet. “His family had sold the Innova they had received from his in-laws to buy him the BMW.”
“Sources said that after pushing the car into the canal, Akash made a video and forwarded it to his parents,” the newspaper reported.

I know how he feels. I used to get Go-Bots for Christmas instead of Transformers. I had the worst parents ever.
How about the imitation LEGO’s? Life is hard...
Oh yeah, I got those too. Mega Bloks. They couldn't even afford to spell blocks right. Sad, really.
Oh, yeah? We were really poor growing up. Besides the knock-off toys, treats consisted of a half stick of gum, half a popsicle, half an apple, or half a banana. EVERYTHING was cut in half! A half stick of gum for crying out loud! I thought I was in heaven when I'd go to my well-off cousins house and got to eat a WHOLE popsicle.
Haha. I totally forgot about the half sticks of gum and popsickles. My mom would buy a pack of gum and every piece that came out of that thing would be torn in half as she gave them to us.
And the popsickles would be broken in half on the edge of the counter and one stick given to me and the other one to my brother.
Those popsicles were made to be broken on the countertop edge, that's how I grew up. Try to break them by hand and somebody gets the broken half in sections

^^^I like the old dude on ambulance watch on the porch in the background. :lol8:
I'll guarantee you that's the dad of one of the kids. And I'm guessing mom is taking the picture and that's why she has all the neighborhood kids lined up like soldiers....
Funny thing is I remember my dad doing the exact same thing when we were doing the exact same thing. The day we added a landing ramp to the equation my dad just told us to go put on our motorcycle helmets if we were going to use a landing ramp....
:lol8:
FWIW - Our take-off ramp was 4 car tires high and our landing ramp was 2 tires high. I remember it like it was yesterday. We also used a Honda 50 as the tow-in vehicle so we could get up to about 30 mph (fast as the 50 would go) for take-off. Wish I had pictures of it. I do still own the Honda 50.
:2thumbs:
Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.
Real men are a dying breed. It’s even worse that some people are turning them into girls before they even have a chance to know they could be a good man. :-(
Insert eye roll here....

Not sure if this really fits the theme of this thread, other than highlighting differences in changing of culture over time.
