Looks like a mining op in Wyoming somewhere, maybe out of Cody?
Sorry Sun Dance, not a mining op and not in Wyoming.
construction of highway 89a between Jacobs Lake and House Rock valley.
Sorry #7, but this was not highway construction. And also not in Arizona.
EDIT: On second thought, I guess it eventually ended up being a highway...
Is this a dam construction site?
That's what I was thinking as well.Quote:

Flaming Gorge?
Correct Scott.
My mom an dad took this picture, as near as I can tell, about 1960. They were just tourists though, my dad didn't work on this dam.
I hope I didn't confuse anyone with the highway clue. Kurt caught me off guard and I quickly replied that it wasn't a highway when in fact the highway would go across the dam when it was finished.
Here is a pic looking upstream.

OK, last one I'll post for a while. Hint: It is not in Utah (and has nothing to do with Utah), but this photo is similar to a famous historical one taken in 1898 (though at a different time of year). The photo pertains to a fairly famous event in history. The event occurred between 1896 and 1899.

I'll assume it is Chilkoot Pass, and the historical event you reference would be the Klondike Gold Rush.
Yes. Here are some of the historic photographs, one of them from a different angle.

This is Camp Rainbow Lodge. I have no idea what the name of that mesa is, but isn't that where "Arch In The Sky" is located?
*cough* saw the answer on another site this morning *cough*

Peek a Boo ??
I'm going with the "Colorado Plateau"......
I wish I could better see the grey rocks. Their geology could provide a clue.
I don't have access to my photo collection, so have to use this..... this should be easy for most.
