Seriously though..This is the problem with the concept of reparations as I see it...
A few thoughts:
1. Reparations (if made) would establish a dangerous precedent. Because if the U.S. Gov't is going to make reparations via cash settlements, then a whole hoard of cultures would show up on the White House steps with their hand out wanting their cut.
-- Native Americans would want reparations for driving their ancestors off their lands, and for the numerous atrocities committed during that time.
-- Asians would want reparations for those two atomic bombs dropped on Japan in 1945, not to mention the cluster bombing and firebombing on Tokyo that occurred during WWll. Additionally, Asians were used as cheap labor during the construction of the trans-continental railroad. They were very much treated like slaves during that time.
2. Doesn't the payment of cash settlements as reparations diminish the experiences that their ancestors endured under slavery? When the untold number of rapes and murders of their ancestors can be bought off with money, it cheapens and diminishes the hardships that their ancestors were forced to endure.
And as a side note....
3. Why aren't Jews demanding reparations from the German government for the atrocities committed during WWll and the holocaust? If there is justice in this world, then if any culture should be compensated for previous wrongs it ought to be the Jews for the atrocities committed by the German government.

I expect Hillary to run, she has been quietly collecting money. It's in her DNA and I don't think she can help herself. I think she is waiting as long as possible to announce as her health isn't great and I think she wants to limit the stress and grind of running to as short of term as possible. Bernie and Hillary are alike in that they craze the spotlight and attention.
The Democratic primary is going to be a blood bath, I expect an unknown to emerge as the leader at summers end. Similar to the way an unknown Obama emerged or how Trump won the GOP as a longshot outsider.
The only way the left could win is if they put up a moderate that could have a wider appeal across party lines.

The Democrats have painted themselves into a corner. It will be interesting to see how they get out. I think the party will implode and something like the Trump Republican party will emerge. The GOP now is nothing like the GOP that nominated Romney.
