Swallow well is so out of touch. Nobody is asking how he’ll take guns from law abiding citizens. We are asking how he’ll take guns from criminals and terrorists.

While I agree in theory with ^, I think it would actually make things worse. If shooters know they'll die regardless, either during the event or right after a speedy trial, then they'll figure out how to make it a bigger mass casualty event. If I'm gonna die, I'm gonna take out more people in a bigger blaze of glory. I'm not sure it's a big enough deterrent.
No--I think a national broadcast of this could be a deterrent, 2-3 of these on tv should do it.
