Yeah agreed. Not sure why they let Williams throw from the 2 yard line. Did they watch what happened to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl?

^^^ I'm planning on being in attendance for the blackout game. Hopefully my black shirt will scare the USC players, and make the Utes play harder.
Utah cracks the top 25. They are 23 and 24 in the coaches and AP polls respectively.
TIME FOR RG's WEEKLY $0.02...
According to Vegas sportsbook, Utah's Blackout game favors the Utes to win by 3 points.
This one makes me nervous. USC is stacked with incredible talent, and they're desperate for a win. While the Trojans have been cutting their teeth against the top team in the country ('Bama) and a very skilled Stanford team, Utah has been dicking around with cupcakes, and coughing up almost a dozen turnovers in the process.
I'm pleased the Utes are ranked, but that only ups the ante and incentivizes the already frustrated and disrespected Trojans to clobber Utah like they did last year.
I plan on being in attendance, making a nuisance of myself, shouting obscenities at the refs and the opposing team's head coach while decked out in my blackest black. I only hope that's enough to avenge last year's demoralizing loss, and come away with that W. Go Utes!
Utah 27
USC 23
I keep getting the feeling Utah's offense is about to explosed and make someone their bitch.
Every offensive Utah player at a skill position is new to each other. When/if they jell whomever is standing in front of them will pay a high price.
Also.... Utah is LOADED at running back and the O-line seems to have their shit together :-)
Plot twist. There is rain in the forecast for Friday's game, and USC just decided to replace their QB with an untested freshman. Bad move. I don't think their QB was their problem. Their mediocre O-line and ugly play calling is their problem. Utah's D is gonna give them fits all night.
Utah's front 7 has to be licking their chops.... A wet field, undisapplended O-line and rookie freshmen QB should be a Utah D Happy Meal.
Yes all good points and Utah's running game has started to find their groove. Knock on wood, but the Yewts should be a heavy favorite.
Halftime - and Utah is getting their ass handed to them. The only reason the score is not 50 to 10 is USC can't hold on to the football. USC is averaging 8 yards a play,
:facepalm1:
Utah finally has a first rate QB. Troy Williams is really good.
That was a really fun game to attend. The overly raucous USC fans in the crowd were eating humble pie as the scoreboard timer expired and Ute fans stormed the field.
Utah is looking more impressive with every passing week. Heading into week 5 they have two dangerous RBs, and a very talented and capable receiving corps catching passes from an accurate dual-threat QB, who gets better every time we see him. All of this together with an elite defensive squad.
The one down side - injuries. Kylie Fitts is gone for the season, and now Lowell Lotuleili is injured...hopefully it's not serious and he recovers quickly.
What a game! Back to back thrillers at home! Awesome!
Typical USC media. Better than everyone else mentality...
Trojans were the better team but still lost

I have to say I pretty much agree with everything that was written in the article. Except that the Ute offense is one dimensional. Last night Utah's offense was anything but one dimensional. The O-line was outstanding, which allowed Utah to move the ball on the ground and in the air.
If you are looking at raw talent USC is easily one of the top 5 teams in the country. And I agree there is no way they should have choked with a 14 point lead late in the game.
I'm on BYU's campus this morning in full Red Utah gear. Here with the scouts at a merit badge pow wow. Getting plenty of second looks. 4-0 baby!!!
My favorite quote from USC RB Justin Davis: "Utah didn't win. We lost, but Utah didn't win."
Still doesn't change the fact that Troy nation is in shambles, and their fan base is crying for coach Helton's blood. A 1 - 3 start to the season is inexcusable for a program that expects championships every year.
One of my all time fav helmets.

Utah gets a little payback on Cameron Smith. He is the guy who picked off Travis Wilson 3 times last year.

Utah jumps up to 18 in the coaches poll.
Arizona state is also undefeated in the Pac 12 south, but somehow isn't ranked in the top 25. How is that?
FWIW: ASU is ranked #26. There biggest problem is they were picked to battle with Colorado for the bottom of the PAC 12 South at the start of the season.

Well, apparently Vegas has Cal as a one point favorite over the 18th ranked Utes. Usually the home team gets a three point edge in the betting lines, so technically if this was played at a neutral site Utah would be favored by 2. Basically, this is a coin flip.
Cal has a very dangerous and accurate passer in Webb, who already has over 1800 passing yards and 18 TDs in just four games. Utah's secondary is gonna have their hands full because Cal can air out the football seemingly at will, and a win against a top 20 team would look great on an already not-so-stellar resume.
The only barometer we have for gauging Utah's performance against a talented QB is how they performed against BYU and USC, and they just barely squeaked by in both instances. Add to that the fact that Utah's vaunted defence is limping. Is Lotulelei still on the injury list?
I think the Utes may possibly face a stiffer test in Cal than any game they've played so far this year. The BYU & USC games could have easily ended in a loss, and we had home field advantage for both of those. Cal beat Texas back when the longhorns were ranked 11th in the polls, but who isn't beating up on Texas these days? But then again, they lost to the Sun Devils, who many believe aren't as good as their undefeated record indicates.
This one is probably too close to call, with the outcome most likely hinging upon who wins the turnover battle. If Utah coughs up the rock more than twice they're probably toast. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this one goes into OT. I'd love to be optimistic here, but I'm gonna go with my gut on this one.
Cal 34
Utah 31
Utah by 5
I think this is a special team...knock on wood.
Cal's defense is allowing 40 while the offense is averaging 45. Utah's defense is allowing 16 and the offense is scoring 27.
It's really about Utah's D against Cal's O. I think our defense will slow them down, while our offense should have a great chance at scoring.
Utah 38
Cal 31
We really need Lutolelei back. There is no way we can lose the best lineman in the PAC 12 and not pay dearly for it. If you remember USC couldn't run the ball until Lutolelei was hurt and then they were able to really gash the D.
I thought Whit said he would play?
I hope so. I haven't heard anything yet.
I haven't heard that. In fact, I just read that the entire team is preparing to play on Saturday without him. Mokofisi is practicing all week as if he's starting. Even IF Lotulelei comes back, he's damaged goods at this point, and not gonna perform at 100%.
This is great news for Cal, who are probably licking their chops watching video of USC carving up our line after Lotulelei left the game.
Utah's biggest problem is going to be how to stop Webb, who has thrown a MINIMUM of 400 yards in every game he's played this season. I think if they can contain him, or at least slow him down they'll win. He's not completely infallible though. He threw 2 interceptions against ASU, and 3 against SDSU...so there's hope.
Lotulelei will not be playing. Whit is just talking coach speak to force Cal to waste time prepping for him.
This will be Cal's homecoming game on Saturday.
Hopefully Utah brings their sack-happy defence, cuz they're gonna have their hands full trying to contain the dynamic duo of Webb and Chase Hansen. Hatfield better eat his Wheaties.
Just read that Cal's QB has been sacked 5 times...
Four games, sacked five times.
5 sacks divided by 4 games:
5/4 = 1.25 that rounds to one...Right?
Here, let me help you clean that egg off your face...

I was thinking 3 games.
