All correct. However the stats don't tell whole story as to why it is that way. Centuries of slavery, Jim Crow, lack of education funding, poor neighborhoods, abusive cops, a criminal justice system stacked against them, the war on drugs. I can go on. But to just state the stats as an excuse for police brutality without addressing the root of these issues is missing the boat imo.
You should watch 13th on Netflix. It's pretty good.
The problem with everything you pointed out is that they are excuses for the violence. I don't think a rotten history is acceptable as a defense. Or a "justification" of the mayhem.
"The Violent Subculture Theory" in Ice's link sure makes sense to me.
It sounds like people need to watch some old COPS episodes again, particularly involving drugs, or the "war on drugs" and see just how many of the accused are whites. The war on drugs is absolutely no excuse for poverty or violence with a certain race.
If I was a racist and bigot I'd be cheering the fact that 93% of the homicides committed by black men are against black men... but I'm not, I find it sad that over 150 years since the end of slavery many haven't been able to assimilate into American society.Quote:
You'd be labelled a racist and a bigot and lynched if you openly declared this just about anywhere north of San Francisco.
Other races and ethnic groups have started from the same bottom rung of the economic ladder of society and worked their way up.
On thing I know for certain is that as long as we label people racist and bigots for simply stating facts we will never solve the problem. To solve the problem you have to be able to discuss the issue honestly.

I own a musket for home defense since that’s what the founding fathers intended.
*Four rapscallions break into my house*
“What the devil?!”, I exclaim as I grab my powdered whig and Kentucky rifle. I blow a golfball sized hole through the first man, he’s dead on the spot. I draw my pistol on the second man but it misses him entirely as because it’s smoothbore and instead hits the neighbor’s dog.
I have no choice but to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the foyer stairs loaded with grape shot. “Tally ho lads!”, I exclaim as I fired the cannon. It tears two men to shreds in the blast. The sound and shrapnel set off nearby car alarms.
*Fix bayonet and charge the last of the rapscallions, “For Abigail!”, I scream.
*Bleeds out waiting for the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up.
Just as the founding fathers intended.

Dick’s shrivels under pressure. Agrees to pay out $1M to 20 year old who they refused to sell a firearm to, violating state discrimination laws.
If I were under 21, I’d be trying my hardest to get them to reject me from buying a firearm, so I could cash in as well - only reason I’d go in there these days.

Dicks paying out for that is pretty lame if you ask me. Since when is being young a protected class? And why can't companies come up with their own policies about how they sell things??? A classic case of big government overreach.
