I was thinking of the beach near Swasey Rapid, but you could be right.Quote:
It looks similar to the beach near Nerfititi (rock formation).

Mt. Shasta. Maybe the Hotlum-Bollum ridge side?
Yes.Quote:

Cool, I got one. Guess it's appropriate it was in CA. Here is my submission. The goal is to name the trail from which this picture was taken as the features don't have a specific name. I think folks will figure the general area quickly, but maybe not the trail.

my guess is the nualolo trail on kauai.
Very close.
my bad. i forget what it was called, but they connect into a loop kind of. the nualolo trail is more inland right? the other one is like awapohi trail or something.
Is it the Kalalua trail on the Na Pali coast of Kauai?
Carpey was so close, I really should give it to him. The trail we were on can be looped into the Nualolo trail. It was technically the Awaawapuhi trail though. Many maps/guides just call them both the nualolo-awaawapuhi loop.
But, yes Ibenick, you are looking down (straight freaking down!) the Pali's of the Na Pali coast. But this is quite a bit further down the coast from the Kalalau Valley, which is the last valley reachable by the coastal trail.
Dan - you're up!
lol. did you see my next post? i kind of knew how to spell that trail. too many "aa" in there.
i guess this is an international affair, so this one could either be really easy, or really hard...
EDIT: looking for the body of water where these islands are.

Total uneducated guess but that looks like Thailand to me.
shoot I was going to guess Thailand. beat me to it.
I will guess Vietnam
or Tonsai, Krabi, Thailand
hahaha, not thailand... i guess i should say "general area" meaning the body of water. sorry.
however, it does look a lot like railay or tonsai thailand.
Yangtze River, China?
south china sea?
or less specific a gigantic interconnected body of water on earth.
Halong Bay?
ha long bay, vietnam. you're up ibenick.
Cool. A friend posted a bunch of facebook pics of her swimming in a bikini there on a trip to Thailand and apparently Vietnam. Had to look up the name but I guess that must've stuck in my mind for some reason. :haha:
I'll bring it back to Utah for a bit. This one should be over fast.

Rocky Sea Pass headed into Rock Creek?
This was part of this summers trip.
Name the drainage or the lake down on the right. The others are all just little puddles.
East fork of Black's Fork?
No, close though.
Alright, a hint:
If I turned the camera 180 degrees, I would be looking at one of the most, if not the most photographed mountain in the Uintas.
Thats probably too easy.
Taken from the saddle between Mt. Lovenia & East Lovenia looking south toward Lambert Lake?
Nope.
Another clue:
Its up an untrailed pass looking SW. Behind me, in addition to the mountain is a series of lakes. Looking out in the basin is the highline trail.
Lake fork drainage, red castle lake behind you.
Sort of. I believe it's actually Oweep Basin/Creek which eventually drains into Lake Fork, so technically it could be part of the greater Lake Fork drainage and you have the right place.Quote:
Lake fork drainage,
The lake on the right is Porcupine Lake. Stone BM is the peak on the left. Explorer Peak is the one in the far background.
this one should be easy

monument basin along the white rim. totem pole in the basin.
Nope
I know the general area, but I haven't tried pinning it down specifically yet...
Well, I haven't been able to figure this one out very specifically, so I'll throw out a guess. Bull Bottom?
Bogley! I guessed, then the rest of the page loaded, and it won't let me delete this
Looks like the white rim trail?
