Alex, what I will say is that with these shots the apature-shutter relationship became crystal clear. As I played in manual mode and messed with the stops(my lousy P&S only goes 2.8-8.0) and hanging the shutter I was able to get the camera to see close to what I was seeing(Im at the mercy of the camera for exposure compension when I do this). I would say I was at F5.6, 1/180 ISO 80 to get both of these. With that in mind, I took about 50 shots that night and these are the best 2....
1/25 isn't too bad of a ratio :lol8: Mine usually turn out 1/100 if not worse.
You should be getting a better ratio than that with the D40, we should get together for a shoot some day.....
Anyhow here is one shot from just above the capital building in SLC last night. I missed the downward slanting rays by about 10 secs as I was setting up my tripod.... Not sure if this is the best, but :ne_nau: if its not.
