LAVAL, Que. - A naked cyclist will face charges of exhibitionism and obstruction of justice after being chased by police on bicycles and in a patrol car late last night in Laval, just north of Montreal.
The 35-year-old man was spotted about 11 p.m. on a bicycle path, Laval police Lt. Martin Lachance said.
"The only thing he was wearing then was a yellow (baseball) cap," Lachance said. Police on bicycles chased the man through residential streets as they communicated with a patrol car.
By the time the man was cornered, he had put more clothes on. "Maybe he had a knapsack hidden somewhere," Lachance said. The charge of exhibitionism is fairly rare, he added, since the suspect must be caught in the act.
