Yet again the current crop of dems want to blame someone else for the stupid decision making of individuals. As long as Amazon doesn't lie about the rate, how is this a problem? Why is Amazon responsible for the bad spending habits of poor people? It's funny that these types of cards have been around forever, but now that the boogieman du jour offers one, they are evil and the government must save us from ourselves.

Imagine being a poor white guy living in a Appalachia reading these types of proposals. I think the wealth gap averages would be news to them.
From a purely strategic standpoint I don't see how identity politics can possibly flip the states that any Dem would need to win the presidency like Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. Lots of working class whites in those areas that keep being told the playing field has always been tilted in their favor and it needs to be fixed.
I haven't a college education or even high school, for that matter...but I was able to become successful. It all started from the age of 28. Prior to that I was dirt poor, crash and burn, scraping the bowl.
I am a "white guy" so perhaps that gave me a leg up?...I wonder how many blacks, browns or yellows came up the same way and figured it out? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
I figure the trick is to go to bed at night feeling good about the pile of money you have, large or not so large...just be happy about it. Then you're on your way.
Otherwise you're a target for all this "Identity Politics" bullshit.
Look up the PMRC...Parents Music Resource Center. That whole thing backfired right in their faces...the more they tried to censor them, the nastier they got. I wonder if this same fate awaits all this sissy nonsense these days.
From what I've seen, the basic platform for the Dems today is that nobody should be responsible for their own decisions, and have no responsiblity for their actions, and that the government (via the Dems) will be the grand benevolent moderator that will make this happen.Quote:

All my life I've been told by my liberal acquaintances that "they care"...and their politicians align with those/their feelings, about a great many things. How can you argue with "someone that CARES", huh?
These days however, what they used to say has no relevance whatsoever...I'd really like to hear a Dem voter tell me know just what they expect their politicians to really do...because it's become very clear that they're only out for themselves. Promising everything under the sun...it's comical.
I didn't get to watch, but I understand the first Democratic Presidential Debate was a train wreck... anyone care to comment?
