CA Gun Stores Staying Open Despite “Non-Essential” Classification
Gun stores in San Diego County are seeing record sales during the coronavirus outbreak, but county officials say the stores should not be open under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order. They say gun stores are not included in the list of “essential businesses.”
“We consulted with our county counsel. It is not our belief that gun stores are essential businesses, and they should not be open in the county of San Diego,” said County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher on Sunday.

CA city to use Chinese night-vision drones banned by US Army to enforce coronavirus lockdown
Police in Chula Vista, Calif. plan to use Chinese-made aerial drones to surveil and enforce the state’s coronavirus “stay at home” orders, and to disperse crowds violating the orders.
The police department has doubled its drone fleet, adding two additional DJI drones to help with its lockdown enforcement efforts, the Washington Examiner reported. U.S. officials have warned against using Chinese drones domestically.
Chula Vista’s drones would reportedly be outfitted with night-vision and loudspeakers.

Listening to the press conference at the White House and it sounds like they will be opening pieces of the country back up before too long. They want to get people back to work where they can. March 16th was when the 15 days started. New York will be locked up for a while. My wife's brother manages a Home Depot and he said people are swarming his store. Even with limited hours he is seeing record sales. He said people are getting projects done while they, “work from home” and using it as an extended vacation.
That said, Idaho is issuing a stay-at-home order starting today for 21 days. They are going a little heavy handed after seeing a recent spike in cases, which is currently at 123 and no deaths to this point.
So now the grocery stores and Home Depot, Loews are only letting so many people in at a time. I just finished a big job and I'm gonna get the heck out of here. Load up my truck with camping gear and my bikes and boogie out. Spend the next two weeks hangin' in the boonies and living out of my cooler.
I wonder if there'll be a lot of other people out boondocking. Reckon I'll find out.
Nice. I'm tempted to do the same. But with so much going on in the market, I prefer to be monitoring daily. I might go this weekend for 1 or 2 nights. Are you staying in state? Probably too much snow in the backcountry to go anywhere interesting. I like the Great Sand Dunes if you go south. Also the NRA Whittington Center in northern NM allows camping. Get some shooting in, too. I wonder if they're open.
