Ok updated with a couple pics streaming their way to me via Facebook. And of course a couple videos. Most are the upper section near the Barracks which I wasn't able to capture.
to understand this video in full, you must first understand the history. Here is epic footage from Orderville like a year ago. Watch how he falls into the water and then the hand for help comes up.

Now here is footage from this trip. Sorry there is an F-bomb in there like 15 seconds in, I should probably edit that out for our more conservative viewers but am lazy. :bootyshake:

And here is just a couple random snips that came out worth watching...

The videos and new pics were awesome! :haha:
Any pics of the perilous ascent out of the canyon?
Unfortunately not :( It was "go" time and I think everyone was worried about getting stuck in the dark. I'll check but I don't think anyone took pictures, bummer.
Oh and I do have to append my story a bit. The lady in the red shirt was able to climb the rope out without assistance, we did not have to tie her in and physically haul her out. As I'm passing the story around, other members are chiming in and giving small corrections. But she did awesome and I understand her pride. Shes not a noob and can hang with the "big boys".
Edit: wait! i found one! One of the noobs came through...

Oh man... 'Lee takes a dive #2' is an instant classic!! Slow mo made it even better!! :roflol:
10:30 start?!? Lol, you don't need no stinkin' alarm clock! :lol8:
Strong work DC!! :2thumbs:
was that a hawaii shirt on the kid?
Geeze good eye! I had to go back and view the vid frame by frame to check, haha.
Thanks bro! I should point out again there is a 3 hour car shuttle on the other side, and it's like another hour to drive from Saint George.. But I'll take it! Hehheee :lol8:
Fabulous TR. Great pics and videos. *Almost* like being there. Thanks!
The exit out near the mouth of Rock Canyon is pretty simple and short; but yes, the driving around and the super-soft sand is a bit of a problem.
Glad you all survived DC. So not in the Checkerboard Pass method, but off the Mesa outside the Park? I've looked at that, thought it was pretty steep for noobs - what did you think???
Tom
Yeah it's probably one of the toughest canyons I've done. Equivalent to Behunin I would guess effort/distance wise, although I did that with our A-team so it went quick and felt different at the time. Add to that fact we had to set up a "meat anchor" for all the spicier downclimbs, plus navigational errors on my/our part not having done it before, plus picking the wrong exit out. Ya tough day! Definitely in over their heads a bit. I can't think of a better intro to canyoneering though, what a pretty place.
