I know how to resize but how do you download so you just get the picture and not the ugly format frame around it?

you have to upload it to another site, like picasa or flickr, then embed it here.

I use picasa, how do you embed?

Go to the picture in Picasa, view the image (as opposed to the album). Right click on the photo, and select "Copy Image Location" (in Firefox) or in IE, click "Properties" then select and copy the "Address (URL)". Paste the URL into your post, surrounded by "[img]" tags. That's it!

Picasa photos are sized 640x480 by default, so they fit well on the forum.

The reason this hotlink didn't work and the others did is that it's not the image address. When you hotlink and image with the image tags it needs to end in an image like .jpg, .gif, .php.

This is what the code from your second pic that worked looks like. Notice how it ends in a .jpg
