take 50 from scipio to salina is faster, because it's more freeway.
take highway 6 to the county road that connects into 24, and i guarantee it's the fastest...

I honestly think of i-70 as the more of winding route then SF canyon.
One more thing my boy will get a kick out of is seeing those bridges on the freeway on I-70, I just can't remember exactly where they are, or what they're called.
Is there any parking right there and a trail to get a good look at them?
