If you haven't done it, I'd recommend it too. Beautiful canyon. I liked East better than West, but it's pretty easy to link them up, as you can do West, climb up the ridge in between them and then descend East with only minor route finding. Makes a big day, but not too bad. It will definitely be cooler than when I did it in June. Finishing up my trip report, and hope to have that out this weekend...Quote:

The hike out isn't too bad, but would definitely suck in the heat of the day. Plan your trip out in the cooler evening temps, and it isn't bad at all.
As for the story from Mark, I had a similar experience; and came across a mormon church group that only had one headlight in a group of around 10. I had two lights with me, so I helped half of them get back out, and get some food / water / warm clothes; and was going to go in for the rest and they had made thier way out too. Interesting times for sure...
