Darwin Award audition

Even in the Mormon Church there are disagreements about guns.

I don't claim any doctrine in the Church for my choice. I have just chosen not to own any guns and have never used one in my life.

The week before Thanksgiving, my best friend was murdered by his brother. His brother had been diagnosed with schizophrenia (sp?) but still had guns. After becoming upset with my friend, he shot him three times in the back with a .357.

It is just my preference to not have a gun around.

You won't ever need a gun with me if you are hungry. I will happily feed you.

Actually what he's trying to say is that kindness and compassion won't stop those willing to do you harm. If you think you're strong enough to sit there and watch someone brutalize your family after they take what you need to survive....then good luck.

Just because you don't own a gun does not mean that you would "allow" anyone to hurt you or your family.

I'm not saying this stuff to be mean.... I'm just telling you how it really is when everything goes to to crap.

I didn't tell you this stuff to be a jerk or anything.... I just wanted you to understand there might be more to home defense then you realize... or not. The world can be an ugly place.
