Today I'm working and listening to the radio. On the morning program they're talking about the vaccination, or lack of it. It's a cluster*ck, BTW...but rest assured, the authorities insist they'll have the kinks ironed out in a couple weeks.
So this old lady calls in and she got the shot. She described the experience...went to the hospital (had an appointment for it) was escorted by the valet to three very lovely and kind young women who took her to a room with very nice and professional medical staff. She was given the shot and watched for 15 minutes afterwards to make sure there were no "adverse reactions"...everyone was so kind, friendly and professional. She was then led back to her car by the wonderful valet. She described the experience as being extremely pleasant...the highlight of her day, in fact.
So after hearing this I couldn't help but picture Edward G. Robinson being led to his death in the movie "Soylent Green". So pleasant and nice. Of course, he knew what they were going to do to him, but it's debatable if he knew he'd be turned into food for the masses. Maybe they asked him as he entered the building "Would you like to become Soylent Green, Yellow or Red?".
In 1972 I read the book "The Population Bomb" and that was my "introduction" of humans being a parasitic virus to the planet. Prior to that, it was all about playing in the dirt, cowboys and Indians and pure youthful innocence. About that same time a bunch of "ecological" dystopian movies came out. So I was made aware that the future of mankind is being portrayed by some as quite dire, indeed. Since that time, we've all been pummeled with the inevitability of it all...overpopulation, global warming, climate change, ice ages, famines, fires, tornados, hurricanes...you get he idea.
So we're being told by some, including scientists and politicians, that time is running out...in some cases we only have a short number of years before the damage becomes "irreversible". I was reading about when the tundra thaws out, so much methane will be released into the atmosphere that the planet will be rendered uninhabitable The extinction of life on earth.
So what's to be done about that? Banning plastic straws, picking thru your garbage and saving up to buy an electric car 'aint gonna do shit. It very well may be that the people that truly believe this is coming down the pike have made moves to stop it...and what stands in their way? About 5-7 billion people.
Up until lately, I always figured that technology and innovation would keep us ahead of these problems...but not anymore. The perfect world they want is obtainable...they just need to start over with a clean slate. They're not going to wait.
So the lady that got the shot? It very well may be that she was injected with the very thing that will kill her when they unleash the next one. They've been working on biological weapons for decades...you'd better believe they've cooked up something that will do the trick. "First Responders" and the elderly...get them out of the way and there's no one to help all the other inflicted...the elderly are just useless anyway, with the exception of their relatives, of course. Mass murder...but it's OK because they're saving the planet. Look how many people they killed in just the last year...there's no morality for those that see the planet crawling with vermin.
Sounds kinda crazy, huh? Do I actually really believe this? Yes and no...I give it 50/50...and with the way things have been going lately, I think that's quite reasonable.
