Of the various subspecies of reindeer (caribou) many subsets have both the male and female with antlers. Male reindeer shed their antlers in the fall/winter. Female reindeer shed theirs in the spring/summer. Hence Santa's sleigh pullers are most probably all female. DoH... doe.
