Isn't that something? It just goes to prove that individuals are easy to pick off...it's crowd management that gets them all screwed up.
Kinda ties in with the NFL lowering the boom on all these guys in the past (like Tim Tebow) but a gang brings them to their knees. People are also naturally inclined to avoid threats, intimidation and violence so when those tools are used, they appear to be quite effective.
It simply amazes me that rage and hate are considered an "asset" by a major political party in our country. We've seen the terrible results of it play out in countries the world over throughout history and you would think rational people would realize that going down that road leads to misery...yet there may something in our DNA that goes all "Hatfield and McCoy" every now and then.
Y' know?...Things are too peaceful and quiet, let's f*ck it up.
I think when people aren't happy, depression and/or anger will swell inside them and in the past they'd lock these people up in a rubber room but nowadays they're all linked together via social media to gang up and lay down some hurt. Somebody has to pay for the way they feel.
About a week ago there was a bum standing on the median of a busy street with a cardboard sign in one hand while flipping the bird to all the passing cars with the other.
Well now...the Motion Picture Academy has decided on these new rules regarding films that are to be considered for Oscar contention..oscars-best-picture-diversity.html
So I reckon the film "Silence Of The Lambs" would meet the criteria if it were released today? I suppose it checks all the boxes...you've got a lesbian (Jodie Foster) a black guy and a transsexual/gay/twisted freak thing whatever it was as the villain...I wonder if that portrayal would be acceptable today? I've always thought that was curious...how they say we need to respect these sexually androgynous people that are so very different yet they're consistently portrayed as weak, sick, confused or stumbling around in one way or another.
One thing for sure, we'll never see a movie made with an all white cast again. Ever see the movie "The 13th Warrior"? Good flick...set in Northern Europe about a thousand years ago...not a black person to be seen. No homo's either. They'll never make a movie like that again.
What are they going to do with something set in ancient Asia? How about a samurai flick? Something about the Aztecs or the Mayan?...Pacific Islanders?
I wonder if what they're doing is an attempt to rewrite history?...well of course they are, and they know it very well. But apparently that takes a back seat to everyone on the set behaving in a professional manner and getting accolades from their peers.
It appears that keeping everyone satiated and getting pats on the back are paramount to these people...concequences are of no concern. This is actually kind of a big deal...as it seems like the best movies ever made may be in the past now.
^^^ This is just grandstanding. Patting themselves on the back to get attention and somehow stay relevant. "The Academy" will swiftly reconsider their ambitious stance when nobody goes to the movies anymore. When it comes to money vs diversity politics money wins every time.
Yeah, seems like it...especially considering the limitations it will put on writers and directors. There is apparently 4 different "criteria" for meeting the standards, and one of them is having a certain number of "the people of concern" on set...working on the crew, at least. But it also clearly states that these people need to be represented in the film as well...that's the sticky part.
Any movie that has an ensemble that doesn't satisfy the PC crowd will be viciously criticized regardless of who was pouring the coffee for the actors...thereby making any film that actually is worthy of winning a controversy.
What they're doing is adding fuel to the fire...friggin' dummies. They're like horses running into a burning barn...you'd think humans would be smarter than that but I guess we're not.
Nice way to handicap artist expression. Image telling Michelangelo that his statue David had to be a gay man of color, or maybe telling Mozart that you must be able to rap to his Clarient Concerto.
Just when you think the left has reached the limits of stupid they holler "hold my Molotov cocktail and watch this".
Crazy. If this is really happening, I guess that's the end of movies as we know them. I tend to watch movies like I do (did) sports. It's a chance to get away from all of the social justice and politics crap going on and just be entertained. Now they want to preach to us in every movie they make about how amazing they are and how awesome it is to be a weirdo and you just have to love them and accept all of the deranged and disgusting behavior they represent. All while reminding me that because I'm a white straight male, I'm the most dangerous thing that's ever walked this earth.
I'm not buying it.
Just read an article about the "controversy" surrounding the new Mulan movie...Google "Mulan sexual controversy" to see what I mean.
It seems from now on the actors are going to have to announce their sexuality somehow in order to satisfy the mob. Gotta have at least one know bisexual running around.
All those old school actors that kept it in the closet? Those days are over, baby. Guys like Rock Hudson would never get away with that these days.
I reckon any day now they're going to cancel MASH because of Corporal Klinger's "disrespectful" behavior.
