Defiance House - Forgotten Canyon - Lake Powell. Very nice picture !
Never been there, but I have this ruin in mind as it can be visited by renting a boat for a single day from Bullfrog Marina (the rates for renting a boat on Lake Powell are so high that I can't afford to pay for a multi-day exploration of the lake and side canyons, even if I would love that...).
Where are these students of Santa Barbara University attending their Geology field course ?

You've got it, and so did Denaliguide a little bit further.
On this picture, you can see a classic view with Monument Valley in the background.

This could be tough, but I know several people on this site have potentially been by here. There are multiple large trees that look like this one along this road. Name the road.

looks like the red cliffs area
Don't think so. Where is the red cliffs area?
Red Cliffs area stretches basically west from Toquerville, through Snow Canyon.
My guess- Behind the Reef Road- San Rafael Swell
Tidwell Draw?
San Rafael desert road heading south from Green River?
With a lack of confidence, Udink gets it! Nice work.Quote:
Tidwell Draw?
There are several of these barkless trees at the far south end of Tidwell Draw before it dead ends at a fence near the San Rafael River.
Wow, that was just a wild guess--I've never actually been that far south in Tidwell Draw. I was also thinking it could have been south of the Little Wild Horse Canyon trailhead.
Ok, here's an easy one:

Taken from the Lake Mountains looking west? Eagle Mountain (town in the foreground), Flat Top Peak upper left.
Except I meant Flat Top was upper right instead of upper left.Quote:
Correctamundo!

Cliff Ridge, viewed from near Miner's Draw. My first thought was actually Split Mountain, so that led me in the right direction.
Correct.

Highway 6?
I was going to guess poopers point but it's not a divided highway
