And it seems like we're all frozen in place as it occurs. I was thinking about that recently...the complacency. Perhaps there's a reason that we subjected ourselves to being rules by kings, emperors, chiefs, dynasties...gods even. It was like that for millennia...still is for billions. I'm with ya, man. Even though I've worked very hard for 2/3 of my lifetime to make myself comfortable, if and when the rubber hits the road I'd move right up to the front of that line. I've learned in life that sometimes waiting around for things to fall into place with your fingers crossed can be quite unreliable...sometimes you've got to get up and make moves, especially when your instinct tells you that's what has to be done. I drove to the middle of Kansas a couple weeks ago and on the way back as I crossed the border with Colorado the highway turned into absolute hell. I was shifting lanes every few hundred yards to dodge potholes and all kinds of other drama...and this was I-70. I considered that if I were to hit one of these and get killed careening off the side of the road NO ONE would bear any responsibility. Your family would grieve your death (or in my case fight over the spoils) and the state would likely charge you to extract your smashed up vehicle...then the Feds would tax whatever assets you left behind.
You know how they say the best health care plan you can have is...don't get sick? You've got to go thru life with your eyes wide open and always paying attention...because we're surrounded by vultures.
