Trip Leaders! It's a good idea to try and PM everyone on your group that is not currently posting in the thread to verify they are going on your trip. If you cannot get hold of them, you can open up those spots. :five:
We'll have a big pot of baked beans, dutch oven cheesy potatoes, chips and dip. Plus we're bringing down a big grill and plenty of briquettes so plan on that being available for everyone to cook meat on.Quote:

There is a chance that some of the Mapleton Crew will be there for the Saturday pot luck. We can do what ever (Jello excluded) in the dutch oven. I will see if John will be coming down.
Awesome! I finally get to meet Scott! :five:
Dave and or Shaun?!
I have secured my permit for 12 hiking the Subway on Saturday. I have not gotten a permit for either Pine Creek or Keyhole yet for sundays affairs. Have either of you gotten one or the other or both permits for these sunday hikes?
I have 3 Pine Creek permits reserved and 2 for Key hole
Dang! Looks like we're off by one week on this Bogley Fest from the annual celebration of Naked Hiking Day. Instead of taking wetsuits we'd be using birthday suits :naughty:

Really looking forward to Bogleyfest!
I'd like to meet up with everyone after dinner on Friday, and will figure something out to bring to the potluck on Saturday.
I'm planning on camping down there. I know Gooseberry Mesa is free, is there a fee to camp with the group at the Ponderosa? Where are the majority of people going to be?
these are places i'm looking at... gooseberry mesa it a little out of the way for me.
Wire mesa 37
I think Jaxx and me and our Bro r going to camp at mosquito cove since its close and easy...
Remember the part in Revenge of the Nerds when they ask "why do they call you booger" right before the guy picks his nose?
Why do they call it Mosquito Cove? And if it's what I think, why would anyone camp there? Just asking...
there is an 80% chance i'll bring my cornhole boards to the pot luck... and i'll go camping at Mosquito cove.
I stayed at Mosquito cove for the last 2 weekends and ill be there next weekend its some of the best FREE camping on the river you can come across. Ill be in a white Dodge thuck with a yellow shell.Swing by will tilt back a cold one :2thumbs:
well i'll be in a blue 1990 grand prix with the paint falling off. :roflol:
did we ever decide on a bogley gang sign so we can identify people :lol8:
Do we have a standard meeting place???
Tom - Spry - Friday - Meet at the Pine Creek Bridge (lower bridge) at 8 am. I have to get the permit, so I might be a bit late. No wetsuits or other stuff, bring tiblocs if you have them and plenty of slings and biners, helmet required, figure out the car spotting while you are waiting for me (and we'll park mine up at the top). I'll bring the ropes.
Tom - Engelstead - Saturday - Meet me at the Mean Bean Cafe at 7:45 am READY TO GO (ie, get there earlier if you need anything). We will figure out car spotting and then head out real soon.
Tom - Birch Hollow - Sunday - Without further communication, we will meet at the turn for the North Fork Road at 8 am. This means leaving Springdale at 7:30 AM. We can try to carpool from Springdale by meeting at the potluck dinner.
Tom
I've been looking on KSL and craigslist for 3mm wetsuits, and have not found any that would work for me yet. I'm not flush enough to buy one new, so I'm looking to rent. Any suggestions on where to rent wetsuits? Should I rent in Salt Lake, or wait until I'm in near/in Zion? I've been thinking full wetsuit based on the reports that some canyons still had snow, but maybe a shorty would be fine for Subway/Echo?
Simply put... I can't go to Zion. Please remove my name from Subway and you guys have a blast. I think I'm going to go crawl under a rock and cry right about now.
Don't stay under that rock to long Alison. You made the best decision. Miss ya!
The post that described a bit about friday night dinner and saturday night potluck seems to have evaded me? Anyhow....Maria and I plan to bring a large bowl of Taboule (sort of a bulgar wheat salad) to the potluck. I'm not too sure where this takes place? Did I just lose the post that described the evening events? I think we were meeting at the Whiptail for dinner on friday night? Where is the Whiptail? What time were the meeting times? Thanks.
Bo

Helmets required for both days. You must have a safety tether for Mystery,(on your harness) and rappel device of choice.
I have a 125' rope for Mystery, if someone else has one in this range it would be helpful.
I will bring a 200' rope for Sunday's Hidden Star, If someone has another in this range it would be great.
I will be in a red dodge pick-up.
Thanks, looking forward to some fun trips.
Kurt
Sorry for the edit Tanya..........
Some places in SLC you can rent a wetsuit cheaper for a week than you can in sprindale for a day. Is a wetusit needed for the Subway it depends on air temps, if you are warm or cold blooded person (get cold quickly), if you have quick drying cloths and a dry fleece if needed, etc, etc. So YMMV. But I think you'll be fine with a shorty, or even without, but again it depends on you.Quote:

Hey Tom, Can you fill that open spot with Yancy Zimmerman, he's flying in from NYC and driving down with us on Thursday.Quote:

Randi and Shaun? What time should we meet at the Lower Left Fork Trailhead? I'm an earlybird, but will throw out a time and correct me if you would like to start earlier or later?
5AM
:haha: ...........No I figure if we meet at 7AM at the lower trailhead, and dink around and work out the shuttle to the top we could be hiking by 8 or so?
Your thoughts?
Tanya,
If you buy one beer this weekend Bogleyites are a bunch of ungratefull cheap bastards.
First one's on me; really appreciate all the time you've put into the planning. :2thumbs:

Echo is still closed due to snow in the canyon. I
With Echo up in the air I'd like to put in for the open slot on Bo's Sunday trip through Pine Creek.
You're still welcome to hang with us Sunday, whatever we end up doing.Quote:
