We rented my son one at Poison Spider. The prices were a little on the steep side, but that's like going to Paris and complaining that the Eiffel Tower tickets were a little much. Whatta ya gonna do? The rock is out there, they have a great selection of capable bikes... You gotta pay what you gotta pay.
I've still got my old bomber hardtail to lend if you're anywhere close to 5'7". My FS rig is awaiting a fork rebuild so I'll be on my pure XC hardtail this time. It's no good for anything crazy so I'll be steering clear of rock gardens and 2+ foot drops. It's great for Slickrock but I'm not so sure about doing Porcupine with the steeper geometry.Quote:

Here is a great spot to get the feel for slick rock. Go to the slick rock bike trail. Ride your bike or push it up through the first saddle. Getting through the saddle is the hardest part of the whole ride. After you get through that saddle right in that area is a great area to go up and down and around. You can spend about an hour learning the ropes. DO NOT try the practice loop on your first adventure. It's as hard as the whole trail just shorter. This area is my 7 year olds favorite spot to ride his mtn bike. He also rides his 70 motorcycle all over in this area. Loves it. The best part is if your not having fun you are two minutes from your car and asphalt.Quote:

Ok bum deal going on here........I really thought it'd be cool to get a Bogley flag made but time and money are of essence. I've priced having one made at a local sign/print shop and sheesh....the one we would want is running $250. They can go cheaper, but it would be tiny. I just can't spend it. SO...............if anyone else in a larger city with more options would like to check on it, let me know. We only have less than 3 weeks until moab. If it doesn't happen, then it's no biggie but thought it would be cool. I've also been really busy with making costumes for a big dance I have coming up and attempting to practice as often as I can so the stress is kicking in.....i haven't update the Moab thread as often as I'd like.
