Does this make anyone else wonder what the deal is on the west coast? Why is gas so much more out here. Bizarre, I tell ya. Is it just distance from refineries or something?

What the heck?
This is off the subject (kind of) but my in-laws live in Perrysberg Ohio. Where the average income is double that of Provo, and their average cost of home is half of what it is in Provo. So you have 4x the purchasing power there. I think when it comes down to it, there still isn't enough of a draw to wanna' get you to move to the green areas on the map.
this is propostorus! moving to Oklahoma!
Welcome aboard! I paid $2.04 for regular this morning!Quote:

Sorry Richard. I forgot you live in the Green area of the map.
Quickly! I need to refuel today. I saw gas for $2.80 on Redwood Rd. but if anyone has any scoops, please let it be known.
No apologies needed. We like it here, but certainly don't expect everyone else to think of it as Shangri-La. I will say that we live in what I think is one of the best parts of Oklahoma - it's hilly and green here, and the people are great. Crime is low and the air is clean.Quote:

There are a few stations having a price war the past few days....probably won't last long, though
Thanks Brute. No I have something to compare prices at other stations to.Quote:

I "served" there once upon a time.
Gas has always been cheaper in Oklahoma. In Colorado Springs even Premium has dropped to $2.83
I just paid $2.80 for 87 octane at Maverik on Monday. At least it's not over $4.00 like it was in July.
supply and demand

Hey Kapitan check out this site:Quote:

Looks like $2.49 is the cheapest in SLC out by Camp Williams. This site is cool because it is updated daily by members. Plus you can search by town and grade.
I always buy at Costco. There is one by my house and one by my job. They are always in the top ten cheapest in the valley. If saving money is your thing, you can save way more by having a fuel efficient car than by always buying the cheapest gas.
James
Too funny, and yes Perrysberg is the right side of the river, although I do think Maumee is prettier. That is way cool that we share a connection now to Utah, Alaska, & Ohio.Quote:

Props for spelling Griffioen correctly.
In my opinion the best thing you can do is buy a decent quality gasoline(like Chevron) don't buy the cheap stuff (Flying J, Mavrick, etc...) you WILL get better gas mileage. I get about 50 more miles on a tank of gas if I fill up at Chevron than at Mavrick I have done this several times to make sure it was not driving habbits, if you don't believe me just try it for yourself.
Ah, finally, it makes sense. People in Oklahoma have lots of sex, so they pay less for it. Thanks. :2thumbs:Quote:

WOW. Under 2 bucks! Just plain crazy. It is now cheaper in SLC today than it was last year by 40 cents.
I think I saw it for $2.44. 10600 South and about 1000 West, South Jordan.
Gas is 2.59 here in Craig, but in Baggs WY out in the middle of no-where it is $2.18.
Paid 2.40 at the Costco in WVC.
$2.49 in WA.
dropped from 2.83 this week to 2.63 yesterday but in Evanston thursday (abt 89 miles away) it was already to 2.43. We are getting screwed :haha: When I make the trip to SLC I always fill up in Evanston both ways because of the $$
My Dad paid $1.92/gal in So. Carolina this morning. :ahhh:Quote:

Yeah, what's the story with diesel? Isn't it easier to refine diesel than unleaded? Y'all are getting screwed!Quote:

$1.78 Chevron west side I-15 and 12600 South. I will be filling up my 5 gallon tank there in the AM. :lol8:
...just dropped to 1.99 in Green River, WY. :2thumbs:
Here in Connecticut, it's taxed more. They blame the wear on highways to the tractor trailers and things of that nature.Quote:

I got 1.85 but had a .05 coupon for 1.80 in Cedar City driving back to SLC this weekend. Almost felt guilty using a coupon on such low gas prices. For years it use to be Southern Utah average prices were higher than the Wasatch front. But now it's flipped.
edit- such low instead of suck low. I do not think low gas prices suck, how low can it go :haha:
