I snapped this last night. The clouds looked pretty crazy, this pic does not do it much justice.
Anyone else have some great Utah sunset pics?

This is one a not really a sunset but its close.
Here's one up at bear lake over the summer.
I love when the sky is still on fire, but the valley lights are starting to come on. This was taken from the east bench of the SL Valley.
I took this one in Joshua Tree park in California.

Heres one from our local High School Canyon View High in Cedar City. This was actually taken from the local newspaper. (Beau Estes is the photographer to give him credit.)

All I got was that sexy red "X" at first and now the pic shows :ne_nau: Nice pic :2thumbs:
Some great shots of Utah Sunsets and some other places ,too. Sometime I've got to find and scan a film picture my wife took in the Virgin Islands.
Here are couple of mine. I really like the Rainbows with the hills lit up. And it was from my deck.

I took this one from the east bench of the Salt Lake Valley on May 4. (Looks to be about the same place from where Savannah's picture was taken). I'm still trying to figure out the settings on my camera, so excuse the graininess.

Here's one from Utah Lake tonight. The storms make for interesting light and water, though tonight's didn't get as intense as I thought it would.

Boy, talk about one upsmanship.
Not many folks on here can really compete with Dan. His stuff is just so good.
He's got the gift.

i'm moving this to the dark room forum ...
Every time I look at these, I feel like I'm back there again in the cold air, watching the golden moment wax and wane. I can't wait to go back. In fact, as soon as I finish my coffee, our son Mitchell and I are hitting the road, in the direction of Colorado!

sorry, forgive me if this is not utah ... but there are joshua trees in utahr
i spent a some time visiting joshua tree during 94-96 (94 was when it was converted from monument
to park status). my first time there was in spring 1994, treated to the most enormous full moon,
wild lightning and wind storm while camped on the side of a short peak (hmm), then en route to the car,
had a couple of inches of silver dollar size flakes dropping down on us as we walked amidst the joshua trees.
the story the park tells is that there were two names used for these trees:
(1) one viewed the trees as pirates with the leaves as knives/blades (i forget the specific name) and
(2) mormon pioneers considered the limbs of the Joshua trees to resemble the upstretched arms of joshua
leading them to the promised land.
anyway ... this following photo has been one of my favorite sunset photos. i just recently got the negative scanned ...
