I want to get into CB Radio's and I'm looking at handheld ones, because I'm not allowed to put any antenna's on my roof (regulations and stuff) and I don't want to scratch the paint on my new car with an magnetic antenna. So i want to use a portable handheld CB like the Midland Alan 42 Multi in my car for when I'm on the road but is it worth it and how much range will I get approximately.
Nobody is using CB anymore. Better to get a tri-band HAM/FRS/GMRS type radio. BAOFENG is what I use..
Midland 75-822 comes at top on my list. It comes with a Battery Pack and Car kit. Can be used with rubber ducky antenna, or car mobile antenna. Has channel scan function too. It has Weather channels.
