What a classic blast from the past.
"They're dangerous....they don't have breaks...they can't see behind them..."Sad thing is, still today there are people that still feel the same way (cough, cough, Deer Valley, Atla).
With the upstart growth of the ski-bike recently, how are resorts responding to them?
A lot of people feel that way still, though I think mostly out of towners. I don't know too many Alta locals that dislike boarders, but based on the tourons I talk to on the lifts, a large portion of them come to Alta specifically because it is skiers only. I don't often go to Deer Valley, but I bet they are 100 times more anti boarder than the Alta folks. I've only boarded once, but I would think Alta would blow on a snowboard. Just about every acre of the best terrain requires either a long traverse or a sidestep.
Powder is just better on a Snowboard
This was no doubt true 10 years ago, but with reverse camber and huge skis I bet it is pretty similar nowadays. I have been accused of skiing with 2 snowboards on my feet when I ride my powder skis. I love these babies: https://www.praxisskis.com/skis/protest/
