Wow, that is like 14,000 ft isn't it? Awesome!!:2thumbs::2thumbs:
Yep, like Mt. Evans, the road tops out a little above 14,000 feet!
The road on Pikes Peak was only paved to the top within the last few years. But since it's a private road, they could ban bikes. Four years ago, an organized annual race/ride was started. But now it might be opened up. Maybe they are looking for more revenue? Bikes will have to pay the same toll as the cars, apparently.
I notice one of the stipulations is that cyclists must obey the speed limit while ascending (LOL!) and descending (boo!). Guess I'll prepare to wear down my brakes quite a bit!
So, a new top speed PR is on the horizon for you?:party::party:
Well, whatever I do on PP will be a new personal best for the course! :haha: Sounds like they don't want me exceeding 56 MPH (currently my all-time record, desceding from Tioga Pass in the Sierras).
Hopefully I don't nearly end up with hand cramps from too much braking...that happened to me descending the Butterfield Canyon road.
