Hikers killed on Denali

tough break. i just wonder how close the slide came to the camp. there is a camp at 11,000 which is right below motorcycle hill. usually not a place where big slides happen. i don't understand the part of the article where he hiked all the way to basecamp to report. i'm sure there were plenty of parties he went past, both guided and private. i know all the guided parties have radios and some have sat phones. once you make the turn at 10,500 i have even gotten cell signal.
