Hi all, I'm going to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP the last week in June. Since I've never been, I'm all ears (or should I say eyes) on pointers, suggestions, etc. We'll be staying in Three Rivers. We want to do some hiking, horseback riding, and see the sites. Thoughts on altitude, weather, bugs, must-see areas, specific recommendations in general about that time of year?

Havent been to Kings canyon, but just wanted to say welcome to the site. I used to live in San Diego, El Cajon, Santee, La Mesa area. Hope you have a good trip.

Buck Rock fire lookout
Redwood Canyon - Heart Tree
Grant Grove area is less crowded - horse ride from there was very enjoyable.
No memory of bugs - they don't like me.
Stump Alley
Hummmm - maybe I need to get back there for a visit as it has been some years.
