Gobblers Knob via Butler Fork/Mill A
Hiked with my wife to Gobblers Knob from Butler Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The trail has a lot of variety and was steeper than I remember. Many of the trail photos are the same as this TR I posted last year of Mt. Raymond. The trail is the same until you gain the ridge. http://www.bogley.com/forum/showthre...tonwood-Canyon
I'd say the trail goes like this: steep (next to stream), steep (woods), moderate (to meadow), flat (meadow), moderate (to ridge), steep (after ridge), steep (to peak). It packs a ton of variety and has places to camp if you wanted to backpack (meadow). Definitely great views from the peak as well. We saw 4 people and a dog towards the peak but they came in through Mill Creek. Saw 6 adults and 4 kids towards the bottom on the descent.
8 Miles, 3000 feet elevation gain (Summitpost shows 3600)
