Camping along Highway 9
Does anyone know of some "at-large" camp spots we could use in September along Highway 9 between Mt. Carmel Junction and the east entrance to Zion NP? We're familiar with most such spots between the park & Hurricane but we haven't ever tried to camp on the east side of the park before. We did find the name and website of that little gas/convenience store & campground just outside the park entrance. If we can't find an at-large spot, we may try their little campground, but would prefer to be off the highway more. Has anyone ever used that little campground before? They claim to have showers. Are they any good or are they the kind you want to bring in a few bottles of disenfectant before entering?

The only place I have camped is at the Orderville trailhead. There are no facilities, it is a bit off the road highway, but in the fall & mid-week I think you'ld be alone.

There are a couple of good camp sites on the dirt road heading south towards Mineral Gulch and the Barracks. This road is just east of mile post 47.

Thanks for the advice. We'd be arriving from Grand Junction very late at night (probably midnight) and just wanted some place to pull off the road near the park for one night.
