Easter Day Family Outing

We had our family Easter party early this year. We went to a place just north of Bluff called Chimney Park. There we ate lots of dutch oven food, road 4-wheelers, hiked, and hunted Easter eggs. Afterwards we went into Bluff to take a tour of my wife's Great Grandfather's house. It is not her Great Grandmother's house because my wife came through the 2nd wife. It is about 120 years old, currently vacant, and in fairly bad shape. Someone has plans to restore it and live in it. It will take tons of money. Anyway I was fascinated by the craftmanship found in many places in the home and so I am including some pics.

An interesting fact - at one point in the 1890's Bluff, Utah was the wealthiest municipality per capita in the nation.

Yes, it is a family member that wants to restore it. But after going through it yesterday I don't have alot of confidence that it can be done without enormous amounts of money.

Wow, that baby's full of relics though.. I love the detailed woodwork and the stained glass windows, and the arched glass windows too! How neat.

The American West Heritage Center has a day where they teach you how to cook on one of those stoves.
