Hmmm, the silence speaks volumes. There were a couple of problems with this loop from the beginning, the least of which would be the trucks on the trail.
I've reworked the trip based on unpopular demand and am now focusing on doing 3 nights around the southern Capitol Reef area doing some combination of the trails there. Like my trip last year to the Needles, I'll have to whittle down an easy 7 nights to just 3.
I've done this hike and it's nice but not a 3 nighter. Probably not much water in Taylor Cyn. but there's always the Green R. Better hikes at the Island are Gooseberry Cyn-Dogleg Cyn loop or doing the White Crack to view the Confluence.
Thanks slickrocker, I didn't know about the Gooseberry Canyon loop. There's a good route description of it online by Steve Howe and it looks nice. I'll keep that one on my shortlist. Wonder about water on the White Crack trail though.
