West Maroon Pass over to Schofield Park, Colorado
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted a little something in Bogley. Besides dancing a ton this summer, I've been trying to get outdoors as much as possible. One of the hikes that I've done in the past, West Maroon Creek over to Crested Butte, I repeated this week. The only difference is that this time I went mid-summer instead of the Fall. "HELLO PRISTINE, NICE TO MEET YOU" is all I can say.
The hike basically starts at the Maroon Bells trail head and slowly gains elevation for about 6.5 miles to the summit. Once on the summit, the hike down is about 3 more miles to the end. The snow run off created beautiful waterfalls along the peaks and it also created some fun river crossings. Wild flowers were abundant! Peaks that were visible included the Maroon Bells, Pyramid and Capitol Peaks......all 14,000 +. I highly recommend this hike for anyone that is ever in the Elk Mountain range area of Colorado.
Along the way we enjoyed running into a small cinnamon bear, deer, pheasant, grouse, whistle pigs, squirrels and so many different birds.
