Skyline Trail to Lewis Peak from North Ogden Divide
The snow was great with about a foot of fresh powder overnight. @bigred72 invited me on the hike and we started at the North Ogden Divide parking lot, then headed south up the trail. The weather was great, calm, until we hit the top of the ridge, and OH BOY THAT WIND cut us to the bone. There was no wind until the top of that ridge and then it was like a totally different day.
I packed my drone up there but the batteries were too cold, and the software wouldn't let me launch. The air was clear for the most part, but the fog blew in a few times. Now I realize it's a good thing I didn't fly it, because if something happened and it fell from the sky, I could have frozen to death looking for it.
So we called it a good hike and headed back down. Another thought was, it would have been really nice to have packed my snowboard up there, to ride in that fresh powder on the way down. Maybe next time.
Here are a few shots.
