Since it was hot on the desert we decided to leave around 5:30 am. We parked at where my GPS said the trail head was. The rock art was 2 miles one way and i soon realized my GPS was being glitchy and it took me six miles out of the way.. So i went back to my truck it's hot now and i drive to the trail head and hike up the canyon where after 1.23 miles and 30 minutes (would be faster stupid ponds and i was tired). Anyhow what do you think of the rock art.

I'm perplexed by the big square in the second photo.

I've seen them before (as well as blotches). I know it sounds silly, but my guess is that someone messed up the drawing and it was their way of erasing it and starting over. Of course that's just my own dumb theory and just a guess.

The paint matches so it's not someone ruining it.
The natives erased with mud, the paint seeped into and eventually peeled off (at least sometimes peeled off).

Nice find....

As for the blotch... maybe the blotch was a background.... I've seen them before and wondered if maybe something was painted over the top that has washed off.... :ne_nau:

My guess was it was a sheep it's head just faded over the years..
Or the most reasonable answer is it's a rug or some sort of blanket.
