Well, since there is no section for 'hybrid' trips, I will go ahead and post my trip report here since a majority of our time today was spent hiking McDonald Creek in Rabbit Valley. :cool2:

-----------------------------------

What a great day! Amanda and I woke up early this morning and headed over to McDonald Creek for a little hiking. This is a nice easy hike that starts out near Castle Rocks and then heads down to the Colorado River.

There are also some pictographs along the canyon.

After making back out of the canyon and back to the Jeep, we ended up doing some exploring by Jeep around Rabbit Valley.

After leaving Rabbit Valley, we headed home for lunch and a much needed nap ;)

Once the temperature started to cool down in the evening I loaded up my bike and headed for the Gunnison Bluffs trail.

While stopped for a break along the trail, I noticed on my GPS that a geocache was located nearby, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to find it :)

I'll say it again....what a great day! Just another reason I love living in the Grand Valley!

Still using the 18-55mm that came with the camera.

I'm hoping to pickup a 10-22 in the next month...but we'll see

Canon is pretty expensive have you shot with it?

I just picked up a Tokina 11-16mm a little over a week ago and I am in love.
