I did a clinic this past weekend with Tom Severin who runs Badlands Off-Road Adventures (see 4x4training.com).

We went up Odessa Canyon and down Doran, but used the bypass to very difficult lower Doran section that really requires serious rock-crawler vehicles. Unfortunately, I forgot to check my camera out before starting out that morning and my battery was dead so I don't have any photos to share.

This was my first time using Tom's services and I found him to be a great instructor. It was also my first time in the Calico Mountains outside of Barstow CA. I was surprised how scenic it was. Ok, not up to Utah standards but it had some beautiful multi-colored badlands and some cute narrows sections as well.

If you are looking to brush up your skills I recommend checking out Tom's website. (Disclaimer - I have no connection to 4x4training.com).
