I'm thinking about making this trip (just for fun) on Friday.
Starting at the South/West staging area, ride straight south along the West side of the Tintic Mountains, drop down into Eureka (fuel up), cross US6, bank west and catch what appears to be a dirt road at N 39 55.417 W 112 9.956 and follow that all the way in.
I anticipate about 200 mile round trip and would take two extra 4gal Kolpin flat packs.
Anybody try this yet?
Edited to add: fourtycal: I picked up a second clutch belt, new tow cable and heated hand grips - so I shouldn't be needing a tow unless I blow my engine (AGAIN!) :ne_nau: |

| Never done it on a quad but we do it on 4x4's on occasion. Lots of different routes to take, Allen Ranch Rd, the old railroad grade, south past Vernon Reservoir, Desert Mtn, etc. Wish I could join you! |

Well, I got to 5Mile pass this morning around 0845. Loaded up the ATV and started to gear up. Discovered that I forgot my jacket at home! :frustrated:
Luckily, I had a hoodie sweat shirt in the back of the truck, so I could at least ride around and only freeze "a little". Temperature was just barely 35F. Discovered some awesome canyons and hidden trails about 5 miles south of the staging area.
I may make another go at this on Saturday! :2thumbs: |

Great looking ride.
Did you keep a GPS log for us?
Any chance you are tracking with the SPOT? |

Yes, I was tracking with SPOT. I didn't make the entire 200 mile loop though. As indicated, I failed to bring my jacket and it was just too cold (35F) to do that long of a ride and at the speeds I was going to be running at (~50mph).
This is still on the to-do list.
My SPOT log is https://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?&glId=1Rpz7Kc8VgmlpLjhf6DgqIQ1jPKz5yVX9&linkPwd=SUASPONTE! |
