I have an older Garmin Vista (bought 2002) which has had all of its software updates. More often than not when using the Go To function on the compas screen, the arrow will move around and not give me any sort of concrete direction to head. When using this function with described dysfunctionality, I am always in the desert with no cliffs or vegetation to mess with the signal. Turning it off and back on doesn't seem to work when it decides to operate like this. Then at other times that arrow on the compas screen holds steady no matter what direction I decide to hike in. I don't get it. Anyone else out there experience this?
Thank you |

| Have you re-calibrated it?, I think Garmin suggests you do this everytime you put new batteries in |

| I thought you had to recalibrate only when you updated software. |

I did a quick google search about recalibration after changing batteries and have yielded nothing concrete. Any help out there? Is this true?
Thanks |

Anytime, thats what Bogley is here fore.
I take it that the problem you were having is fixed
Whenever my vista acts up I just calibrate it and it has always fixed it. |
