|
|
I lived to tell about another fine trip down the magnificent river! We ran Westwater at 15,200 cfs (terrible teens). This was my first time running the "terrible teens" level and it was my first time being a captain on the paddle boat as well :eek2:
All in all, we had a great time. I made one major mistake in the Skull rapid calling "reverse" instead of "forward". My mighty team listened to my commands and started to paddle. Then I realized my mistake and corrected it, doing a 360 right through Skull :haha: We were far enough left that we missed the hole and made it through ok.
We did have a little problem on the Funnel Falls rapid, *note to self* a paddle boat is a lot faster than an oar boat. We passed the oar boat IN the Funnel of the Funnel Falls rapid, it was pretty funny. :five:
There was a lot of Tequila, Crown Royal and Colorado Beer consumed during the trip :cool2: And two guys ended up with heat strokes the next day.
I have run WW now maybe 20 times and every time I go down it's a unique experience, I can just imagine the satisfaction the old pros get who have 400+ trips under their belt! :hail2thechief:
Enjoy the video.
