Not sure if ya'll would be interested or not. But maybe you can turn it into some game of betting on if I make it or get eaten by a bear. [emoji1787] Seriously is a possibility in the area I am headed. I think they have had 2 encounters up there now.

Anyway I am "racing" I use the term loosely because I am anything but fast on a bike.

Race starts Friday 7AM. My goal is to be at the finish line Monday 5PM. Self supported all on your honor. No prizes for the winners other than the satisfaction you have what it takes.

So far 7 entrants I will be the only pink dot.

On a steel horse I ride 436 miles from Victor, Idaho along Wyoming border for a bit, then head towards Island Park over Red Rock Pass and up to Hamilton Montana.

Wish me luck!

If you would like to follow. Here is a link to the tracking board.

What do I think my chances are of completing the race? I will know better by the 2nd day. If I make it past Lima I would say excellent chance. Hardest day will be the last there is a kick ass climb on that day.

I do have a breakfast beer calling my name on my second day at Lakeview Mt. Friend of mine has friends that live there. They will have a huckleberry ale for me. But other than that it ia all on me. Re supply in Island Park, Lima, and Jackson. All tiny gas stations. So it should be interesting.

Rock 'n friggin' roll, man! Again, good luck.

Snickers bars...if you feel like you're gonna bonk gobble one of those down. Does the trick every time.

I just got super excited for this race. Iceaxe you will appreciate this. Same with you accadacca

This excitement is not for me but because a 15 year old is going to do it! I don't know for sure yet but I bet he is a Teton Valley rider from NICA. His name is Jacob Hora. That makes me smile from ear to ear!

That's a pretty cool interactive map. Right now it looks like you're right in the middle of a prolonged ascent paralleling the North Fork of Fish Creek. Got about 800+ feet more to climb before it levels out for a while.

I wish I could cheer you on in person since I'll be in the Island Park area next week. I'll just have to root for you from my computer.
