Does anyone know of a way to access Mt. Powell (https://peakbagger.com/peak.aspx?pid=5497) from Henry's Fork basin?
I'm planning a trip to backpack into Henry's Fork, and then hit the 13ers on the south rim of the basin (Mount Powell, Henrys' Fork Peak, Dome Peak). I know I can access Dome Peak on the East end from Gunsight Pass, but around by Mt Powell, i don't know how to get access to Henry's Fork Basin.
The only .gpx file of an ascent I've been able to find of Mt. Powell used the full length of Flat Top Mountain (https://peakbagger.com/map/BigMap.aspx?miny=40.777817&maxy=40.923275&minx=-110.466362&maxx=-110.399849&t=A&d=1233510&l=L_CT%7CL_FS%7CL_MT%7CL_AG%7CL_OT%7CL_OS&c=6573&hj=0), from the very gentle slope at the far north end.
I was hoping to access Mt. Powell from any of the bowls north of it that drops into HF basin, such as the ones near Castle Lake, west of Island Lake, or near Bear Lake.
