The reason you, or most the world, has never heard of Juneteenth is because you're not black and living in Texas. It's basically a local celebration. It became a state holiday in Texas in 1980 to celebrate the enforcement of the emancipation proclamation in 1965. Now it's being sensationalized by the left in an attempt to create more race division.

To put it in proper perspective I'm guess most of the country has no clue why the 24th of July is celebrated in Utah.

94901So I just returned after working on a cabin up in the mountains for 5 days. No cell range, no internet, no TV...just the music I brought and a radio. Among the stations that came in loud and clear was NPR. So I listened to it for about 5 hours each day. I figured...these people are more or less the mouthpiece of the left, so let's hear what they have to say.

So I'm listening with a bit of a sympathetic ear..."I'm a captive audience, persuade me". What I determined is that a whole bunch of people in the United States are suffering a nervous breakdown. I was listening to the "intelegensia" of the left...we got PHDs, scientists, prize winning journalists, physiologists, former and current politicians, Frank Zappa Valley Girls tryouts with degrees in Sociology, and a lot of really articulate black chicks that'r all pissed off.

The problem is, most of these people did the same thing...start off with something reasonable, and then try to beef it up with unicorn's farting rainbows bullshit...or they're overflowing with rage. EVERYONE is on the hit list...ALL white people, anything Confederate, Churchill! Even the founding fathers...ALL of them. They want the police gone, period. They want misdemeanor crimes forgiven and ignored from now on. Empty the prisons.

I'll tell you what, the blacks aren't all down with the Democrats. It seems like a lot of them realize the Dems have been screwing them over in the first place...even though the NPR "hosts" tried to convince them the police unions are too blame...oh, by the way, police unions are, and have been training grounds for White Supremacy. The Dem politicians are your advocates. The blacks know better, they don't trust anybody. They're encouraging for voting "local", and the NPR folks always tried to steer it toward Trump.

BLM has no representatives...I waited all week for someone "official", a spokesperson perhaps? There was a whole lot of people talking "for" them, but no real rep. BLM is just a slogan, and it's advocates have a very disjointed, mixed up message. Everything is driven from emotion and nothing really makes sense except anger and despair.

Dems seeing it slipping away and then Covid drove them over the edge.

It's a quad combo now: 1, extreme anger at him. The soft civil war getting hot? I've come to the conclusion only if Trump wins. They'll indeed ratchet up. We will not if they win. We will blow smoke, buy guns, move to some red states, and surrender. It's not in our nature to take to the streets to do anything.

This can be dismissed as my usual pessimism, granted. But my long standing pessimism has been based on math and demographic reality. This is on top of that.

I've been talking to every police officer I see now. 2 on motorcycles outside a drug store I was leaving, 1 who drove by as we were walking our neighborhood one night, and one inside a Home Depot recently.

When I write estimates, the "Master Bedroom" is just that, or it could be a Master Suite if it has a bath with it. Most do. Frequently, the Master is a job unto itself.

All the other rooms are the kid's names that are sleeping there or a guest room. Sometimes a sewing room, an office or workout room.

The first time anyone objects to me writing "Master" anything on my estimate, I'll just get up and walk out. If it's a longtime customer, then I'll say "What the heck are you talking about?" and write it down anyway. Everybody plays by my rules...isn't that terrible? Why do African Americans think they're the only race on the planet that is owed anything in the way of reparations?

If you go back far enough you'll see that the good ole' U.S. of A. has taken a very LARGE dump on many races throughout the course of history. For example:

-- The Chinese were vilified and enslaved for decades here in America, the most glaring example is during the construction of the trans-continental railroad, where they were considered expendable. If they were killed from blasting or from sheer exhaustion they were cast aside as the work continued.

-- The Japanese were rounded up and thrown in prison camps during WW2 -- one of which was right here in Utah (Topaz Internment camp near Delta). And then there's that little issue about two atomic bombs that were dropped on them, the effects of which they're still feeling even today.

-- The Mexicans were driven out and lynched by mobs in Southern U.S. cities between 1850 - 1920. Much like blacks, they weren't allowed the use of public facilities and were heavily discriminated against for decades.

-- The Native Americans --- well....I don't think I even need to say anything here - their tragic history and abuse by the U.S. gov't is well known and well documented. If ANY race has a reason to bitch it's the Native Americans.

-- The Italian and Irish immigrants were also victims of abuse in the early days of the country. This was a big reason why the Italian mafia was organized -- to stand up to the perceived discrimination and abuse doled out by a less than friendly U.S. population.



....and yet, it's always the African Americans who clamor the loudest, as if they're the only race alive who's ever experienced something tragic at the hands of society. Why? Why isn't every single race who's ever been wronged by the U.S. out there playing the victim card with their hand held out, expecting payment for past wrongs?

I've heard it said that there are two different versions of BLM:

1. This is the version that all of the white soccer moms are advocating for, which is basically an effort to hop on the latest bandwagon civil rights issue. I think for most folks it just means they support racial equality.

2. The second version of BLM refers to the fundamental doctrines of the Black Lives Matter organization, which I've heard some folks claim is outright Marxist. Just a brief surf through the Black Lives Matter website didn't turn up any version of Marxism or communism that I was able to discern. Did I miss something? Did a little naked Jeep drive from SoJo to my son's house in North Salt Lake. Downtown SLC has become yet another DEM shit-hole. Homeless everywhere, tents, boards up on store fronts along State & Main. With the doors being off, I really had to worry about stopping at each light with the mental folks wandering the streets as I could see my lovely wife was getting nervous. So, downtown SLC now = Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, NYC, etc. So Sad. I have NEVER seen downtown look so bad before.

Up until this week, I haven't done a job north of my house in quite a while...so I detoured thru downtown just to take a gander.

It looks like a third world country. The irony of it is that Nov. of '18 they got enough signatures for a ballot measure allowing homeless to camp on ANY public property as long as they didn't block a sidewalk. The voters turned it down in a big way.

Well, they've blown right past that, let me tell you. Tent cities all over the place...in the grassy medians right in front of peoples homes several miles from the "bomb crater" of Civic Center Park. These people voted the Mayor in, now they got to live with it.

Which probably a bunch of them don't mind. A lot of these people that live downtown or right next to it love the "diversity" and the weirdness of it. Some of them probably think it's cool? Others though...they want the trendy hipness and urbane "feel" but now have to live with open sores that won't heal. BLM and hate agains the cops signs all over the place. The drug addicts and alcoholics sure are down with the cause.

What can be done with these people that hasn't already been tried? Most of them LIKE the way they live...they can't swing the monthly grind. I say we just have to accept the fact that there are going to be feral human beings amongst us and...???.

They want to replace that life (where we have freedoms to say, think, and do as we please) with one where the group thinks for us and anyone found to be outside that is not tolerated and as we've seen, can even be killed for those thoughts and words.

If that's not Marxism, I don't know what is. The rate at which these people have gained power is alarming to me and the way that the young people are gravitating toward it because of the marketing they are doing only makes it worse.

I went to their wedding. He was essentially my best friend for years when we lived in l.a. They made me a godfather to one of their kids. They keep a sweet home and have an otherwise normal life. We have stayed in each others' houses many times since our l.a. days. Personally nice people, baking pies and thoughtful and kind. Backpacking trips and sports leagues and house parties we did, for years, as young adults.

And they've become that. To the point where I have ripped their radicalism and he recently called me vile. Relationship over.

But yes, they do support that hellish chaos as a righteous necessity. As some of us here would support open violence to protect against the coming assault on the 2A or to oppose the likely land redistribution in a decade or so. We need to understand the depth of the other side's hatred of this country, and the now open hatred of white people. They are not our fellow citizens and patriots. Not even close.

I can't remember the very first time I heard of "white people adopting black kids"...probably sometime when I was a teenager. But at some point, I was told (or read) that it was to provide those kids with "a better shot at life"...and I always regarded those that did these things as people who want to reach down to those that are "disadvantaged" one way or another and pluck them out of a bad situation. Same thing with those that adopt kids from Russia or third world countries or kids that are addled by the drugs/alcohol that their parents were addicted to.

I've had a few clients that did just that...flew all the way to Europe or Africa to get their new family members...like we've got a shortage of them here? Anyway...God bless them...big, giant bleeding hearts and all. But in a few cases it went really bad. The kids grew up to be serious problems because of brain damage caused by the behavior of the mom before they were born.

The Rosenburgs, for example. Those Russian twins they adopted absolutely DESTROYED their lives...I watched it all happen over the course of 20 years...violence, destruction (that I had to repair), the police coming to the house on a regular basis, the girl having a baby at 16. Total disaster. And all they wanted to do was give them a nice life...wealthy Jewish people. Nice house...when the son wasn't smashing holes in the walls.

This article makes no sense to me. Like Ice said, the people running the website, selling the merch, and collecting the donations are the ones controlling the movement. They are a horrible, Marxist, anti-family, anti-freedom group that doesn't just want to end police brutality. They want to end the western way of life forever. They don't want you to have any liberties or freedoms. They want to take away the police and replace them with a bunch of people that will do their bidding. They are trying to take over the country.

So I just returned after working on a cabin up in the mountains for 5 days. No cell range, no internet, no TV...just the music I brought and a radio. Among the stations that came in loud and clear was NPR. So I listened to it for about 5 hours each day. I figured...these people are more or less the mouthpiece of the left, so let's hear what they have to say.

So I'm listening with a bit of a sympathetic ear..."I'm a captive audience, persuade me". What I determined is that a whole bunch of people in the United States are suffering a nervous breakdown. I was listening to the "intelegensia" of the left...we got PHDs, scientists, prize winning journalists, physiologists, former and current politicians, Frank Zappa Valley Girls tryouts with degrees in Sociology, and a lot of really articulate black chicks that'r all pissed off.

The problem is, most of these people did the same thing...start off with something reasonable, and then try to beef it up with unicorn's farting rainbows bullshit...or they're overflowing with rage. EVERYONE is on the hit list...ALL white people, anything Confederate, Churchill! Even the founding fathers...ALL of them. They want the police gone, period. They want misdemeanor crimes forgiven and ignored from now on. Empty the prisons.

Yeah...the "insurance" thing. I heard that back in June while I was up at the cabin...standing on a ladder mopping syrup on the logs and shaking my head.

Had an ultra liberal client say the same thing when we were talking about the violence..."You've got insurance, don't you?".

It occurred to me a long time ago that there is no shortage of people that will never make more than 10 bucks and hour...they simply don't have the wherewithal...the ability, the work ethic, the smarts. They go thru life day to day, month to month with no solid plans. Wishing, hoping and dreaming is fine but at some point you've got to roll up the sleeves and pay yer dues. They stand at the edge of the pool but never take the dive.

I've made an analogy of life being like a boat in the ocean...you're not in it alone. Your sharing it with family, friends, culture. If the damn thing is rocking like crazy then you've got to have the balls to bail out and swim away...make your own destiny.
