Podcasting superstar Joe Rogan has signed a blockbuster $100 million deal to move his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," exclusively to Spotify. The agreement, which kicks off in September, is the latest move by the music-streaming giant to “differentiate itself from competitors like Apple and YouTube,” NBCNews.com writes. So far, Spotify has poured more than half a billion dollars into podcast acquisitions and licensing deals, and this deal also allows it to tap into the $30 million in advertising earnings Rogan rakes in each year.
