wow---that is beautiful, stunning, I've never seen anything like it--no pollution in the valley, great shot, is it shopped?:ne_nau:

My house overlooks the Salt Lake valley, and without doubt the valley air is the cleanest I've seen it in the 27 years I've lived here. It's amazing how fast the earth can heal itself. I swear if I bring up my spotting scope I could watch the buffalo roam on Antelope Island.

Jesus gas is cheap... we just ran 170 miles from Draper to Lava Hot Sprinps Idaho in the Vette... and I spent a grand total of $8 on gas... we were running hot and belly to the pavement all the way up.

We passed half a dozen Highway Patrol on the way up sitting in the medians trying to scare folks into slowing down but not one of them was actually radaring.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200418/7276d2b8dd53a2226a084e869624dcf3.jpg

Shane, did you go home after? If you did, that's not really "breaking out" :naughty:

That is one beautiful car for sure :2thumbs: What year?

RobThe car is a 2011. And no we didn't go home. I'm currently staying at the Lava Hot Springs Inn and about to go soak in the pools for a second day. I'm done with quarantine.

I'm heading to Sand Hollow, towing my 43' 5th wheel. I bet I can get up to 85MPH weighing in at ~33,000 pounds! :haha:

Though I could, I won't I try not to tow faster than 75mph!

Sarah ran up to Idaho today and sent me a text that she bought gas for $1.75 per gallon. That is the lowest she has ever paid for gas in her 4 year driving career. :lol8:

I told her to savor the moment, after this is all over it, she most likely will never see those prices again. Why the hell isn't gas that cheap down here??

Nice little red car. Enjoy Lava Hot springs.

Paid $1.25 the other day in the Denver area.Using my .75 cent discount at Smiths I paid $1.55 on 4/8 but on average right now in Ogden area regular unleaded gas $2.20 today last time I filled up which was Friday I paid $2.24 on my way home from SLC.

The public soak in lava.

So I am curious which soak you are enjoying. I have only been to the main soak, the old sanitarium, and Aurora Soma which would be fairly private but not hot enough.

The public facilities are all shut down. We always stay at the old hospital because they don't bitch about alcohol so long as you keep it on the down low and you're not an ass. It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Iceaxe What's your choice for motel up at Lava? What are the average rates at the moment?

Iceaxe

Lava Hot Springs Inn is the only place we stay because they have their own pools and my beer cooler is in the room 50 feet away. Rooms begin at $94 a night and includes a nice breakfast. I don't know what other rates are.

Pro Tip: If you stay at the Lava Hot Springs Inn and rent the room Spa 1, their is already a Gopro mount on the side of the fireplace so no need to bring one from home.

Round II - We went back up to Lava Hot Springs for the weekend because it's one of the few places where we can enjoy a normal weekend.

Things were a little different this week as more people are figuring out this is a great escape weekend during lockdown. More people but also the town was a lot more open. Some of the restaurants were open with outdoor seating. More restaurants open with curbside pickup.
