Looking to refi my mortgage. Anyone else do this recently and care to offer advice? I know some folks swear by credit unions vs banks, but I've always been treated fairly well by Chase and WF.

Open to any and all advice.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't had a mortgage in 10 years, but the last time I did a refi I went through my Credit Union and they did what was basically just a signature loan so I didn't have to do any appraisal or inspections or anything else and it was super cheap and interest was below everyone's normal rate.

To qualify you had to have a bunch of equity and outstanding credit.

Anyhoo I mention this so you should at least talk with your CU as they are almost always better then banks. Technically banks operate at a profit while CU's don't so the CU should be cheaper.

Give Erin Hendricks a call at Intercap Lending in Orem. It's a long way from Ogden I know, but you may not ever have to visit the office. We just refied in Sept and the entire process was completed by scanning documents through a secure portal and communicating by email and text. We did have to drive to the title company to sign the mountain of paperwork, but that's it. This was our 4th mortgage over the last 25 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Check out his rating and reviews on Google.

Don't forget to let us know what you did in the end and why, I'm always curious about financial transactions as there is often an option I've never heard of before.
