A lot of your fellow countrymen lost their lives on D-Day 75 years ago (as did a lot of mine, and the Canadian and other Commonwealth countries)....I'd like to make mention of their sacrifice, a celebration of which is taking part on this side of the pond.

I was at the former RAF Duxford yesterday, where a contingent of largely US C-47, DC-3 and other Douglas Dakota variants arrived and then departed to the beaches of Normandy

92799

92800

92801

92802

They all then flew to Normandy.

It was great to see so many (and so few!) Veterans taking part in this 75th. I doubt there will be another clebration.

My hat is off to all veterans of all nations.
